Outfits: Spring Blooms

Spring has arrived early in Seattle (and I’m not complaining!). Each year, it seems as though I’m in the “trenches” of my winter wardrobe; constantly reaching for my black and grey sweaters, coats, and boots…then, with the blooming of the cherry blossom trees, I want to see none of it!  I’m ready for embriodery, pastels, and light-weight cotton.  However, I need to be reminded that even though the sun may be shining and the birds chirping, I still need to layer with a coat!

What I’m Lovin’: Zara’s Spring Line

This weekend I went shopping with a friend who resides in a Zara-free city. We had a ball; focusing on finding her some appropriately distressed jeans and unique accessories. I scored an awesome pair of booties, in a style that I have been eying, and a fringed bag (I am the number one consumer of this blog!). I exercised great constraint, considering that the store was packed with new spring goodies.

Buckled Ankle Booties | Fringed Leather Bag
I returned to the store on Monday morning (an ideal time to shop a usually busy store) to simply exchange the bag…and alone I fell into the dressing room with an arm-load of loot. This is what I was trying (and may have gone home with):

Anchor Earrings | Striped Sweater | Embroidered Blouse | Double Breasted Coat | Flared Jeans

Breathe a sigh of relief if you must because flared jeans are hot for spring! Likewise, both the embroidery and nautical stripes just beg for warmer temps and sunny days.  I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of the coat, as sunny spring days can still be cool (and wet here in the Pacific Northwest).  And, with it’s neutral color and A-line shape, it compliments all of my spring pieces when I don’t want to reach for my standard blacks and greys of my winter coat collection.  Finally, the anchor earrings are so on trend (the half moon sits snuggly below your ear lobe) – a fun accessory update that, at $19, doesn’t break the bank.

Thanks for reading! And…happy shopping! ~Jenn

Friday Favorites: On the Fringe

Swinging fringe is everywhere this spring.  While it may seem daring to don a fringed mini skirt (which, I for one, can totally get behind), it’s easy to add a dose of boho flare with a fringed accessory.  For example, the suede fringe bucket bag below is currently on my wish list!  And, you’ll love the way the fringe dances when you strut your new piece.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for reading! ~Jenn

Outfits: Spring Inspiration

P1110012Can you believe it…I’m not wearing black?! The spring-like weather here in Seattle has inspired nautical stripes, spring pastels, and even open-toe shoes! I easily swapped these heels for more-practical flat booties immediately after taking these photos – but this a fun option for a more sophisticated look.  And, don’t you just love these initial earrings (the J is hiding behind my hair)??

Jeans: Rag and Bone | Tee: Gap (classic) | Jacket: Aritzia (similar, lusting over this one) | Heels: DV by Dolce Vita (similar) | Purse: Zara (studdedblush) | Necklaces: The Giving Keys, Nordstrom | Initial Earrings: Queen Anne Dispatch (similar)

Please leave a comment with what you’re “Lovin'”…or not. As always, thanks for reading! ~Jenn
